ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility is important, particularly for our elders, and so some units at RTC will be developed with accessibility in mind. To ensure inclusion, the common house and a portion of the outdoor space will be accessible as well.

At River Trail Commons accessibility does not just mean physically but also financially. Towards that end, our units will be below market cost for new construction. Inherent to co-housing are cost savings that will benefit us all.

"You have one income and you’ve got to make it stretch. There are so many different sharing programs that we do, depending on the needs of the members here. So whether it be clothing or food or art projects . . . every kid in our place gets a Christmas gift so if you can’t afford one, your kid’s going to get one anyway."
