SUSTAINABILITY
To contain pricing while addressing climate change, we plan a Phase 2 for completion of some features, such as solar panels and a shared EV vehicle. We have designed to be solar and EV ready with the necessary infrastructure so we can add when possible.
We will have a community garden, compost, and buy-in-bulk options, as we encourage the sharing of resources (“we don’t all need our own lawn-mover”), and other sustainable approaches to living. We will purchase produce for our weekly meal from our sister Village Farmstead, an Oak Creek agro-hood.
RTC will preserve open space, utilize green building materials and techniques, minimize the intrusion of cars, and design with our natural setting in mind.
A primary feature of Co-housing is reducing our individual home square footage so that the lesser used areas, such as guest rooms and entertainment space, is located in the Common House and used in common.
Because of our sustainability focus, plans call for solar-ready structures, organic gardening, composting, and just 21 deeded underground parking spaces, some guest parking, and a future shared EV with charging stations.
