Common House
A place to gather and connect with your neighbors.
Shared Spaces
Our beautiful Common House is an extension of our individually-owned homes. Stepping out of our private units, we move into our common spaces. They feel homey and inviting, because these spaces are also part of our homes.
Overlooking the forest, Gordon Park, and Milwaukee River is our Great Room, the nucleus of the River Trail cohousing community. It is a flexible space which facilitates common meals, community parties, workshops, art exhibits, business meetings, remote work, coffee groups, game nights, and much more. The Common Kitchen is the hub for preparing and serving community meals. It may serve as an extension of our personal kitchens and can be scheduled for family celebrations, classes, and cooking projects.
Workshops, Community Rooms, & More
The Arts and Crafts Studio / Workshop / Bike Repair Area is a communal and collaborative space to cultivate and share creative energies among us. Our bike storage and repair area in the lower-level leads right out to the park intersection of the Beerline and the Ice Age Trails. This lower-level also includes storage. Our Living Room is a warm and welcoming space complete with a fireplace and comfy seating. It is perfectly suited for games, music, and movies. Right outside the Living Room is a communal library. The Kids’ Room is an inviting space where children can safely explore, interact with others, and be themselves.
Our Dining Deck extends our eating area to the park overlook for wonderful outdoor dining. The Rooftop Fireplace Room contains dedicated teen space, as well as space for meetings and conferences.
